Well what a month it's been here at Goddess HQ!
I'll tell you all about it in a minute but first I want to know about you. How have you been and what have you been doing? So when you've finished reading why not leave a comment to let me know?
We've had half term this month so there have been lots of mummy/daughter activities going on for myself and Mini Goddess including a trip to the cinema. I was a bit apprehensive about taking her because I wasn't sure she'd sit still and quite for the duration but thankfully she proved me wrong!
Business wise there's been lots going on too. It's always tough as a single mum trying to juggle work and childcare over the school holidays. I took a few extra days off during that week but I've got to say I'd be lost without Ma & Pa Goddess when it comes to time off school!
I was hoping to have an exciting new product for you this month but I've not quite managed to get all my ducks in a row and make it happen so keep your eyes peeled for some exciting news in March.
I have however managed to give my wonderful website a long overdue overhaul. I'm pleased with the results and think it looks really good. It also works much better from mobile devices, which most of you use these days. The eagle eyed among you will have noticed an exciting new category in my online store, 'Special Offers' It really does what it says on the tin and it's where you'll find the offers I have running at any given time so it's well worth checking out.
Oh and one final piece of news that totally thrilled me in February... I officially became the very first memorial jeweller to be accepted as a member of the Good Funeral Guild. I do love what I do but it's so nice to receive a little 'official' recognition!
Until next time...
How are you? How has the start of the year been for you, still sticking to those resolutions?
I'm doing fairly well with mine. I banished all technology from my bedroom this month, I've gone back to a traditional alarm clock rather than relying on my phone and I've found that I'm actually getting a much better nights sleep without the temptation of looking at emails when I wake up and check the time.
Enough about us though and on to business. I've got both good and bad new this month so I'll get the bad out of the way first.
I'm sorry to say it but after doing lots of sums over the Christmas break I'm going to have to put my prices up. My costs have gone up 4 fold over the last year with all but one of my suppliers posing price increases, unfortunately this means that I just can't sustain the level of pricing I've been offering.
BUT (now for the good news)... rather than putting them up straight away I wanted to give you all some notice so you can make the most of the prices before the increase.
Prices will be going up on Monday 30th January 2017.
So if you've been umming and ahhing now is the time to take action, you have until Midnight on Sunday 29th January to place your order at the existing price. After that price will be going up. So visit the store page to place your order before it's too late.
It's been a super busy month and I'm sending out much gratitude to all that have placed orders, liked my Facebook page, followed me on Twitter, requested brochures, signed up for my newsletter or visited my studio. I love interacting with you all and getting to know each other.
In less work related news we've been getting out and about a bit and I took Mini Goddess on her first mini mountain adventure earlier in the month. We're so lucky to have the Peak Dirstict national Park on our doorstep so we climbed to the top of Mam Tor, The Shivering Mountain. That's a long way for little 4 year old legs and she did the entire 3 mile hike without a word of complaint or wanting a carry (even when she lost her welly in the mud!)
so catch it here while you can!
Can anyone quite believe we're at the end of September already? They do say that time flies when you're having fun and this month (this year in fact) has just been ridiculous, but fun never the less.
Infact I've been feeling so good that I've been heading out every morning straight from the school run for a 5K jog before starting work! I'm not sure how long the motivation will last through the winter months but I'm sticking at it while the going is good.
It's been a really busy month in the studio too, with the arrival of Bertha Blue Bird, the new kiln as well as orders pouring in from last months special offer. It's been a couple of weeks of nose to the grindstone but I'm all up to date now ready for the immanent surge of orders in the lead up to C*&!$%£@s!
P.S - See my post about Xmas Deadlines here!
I Well I've been a bit rubbish haven't I... February since I last posted anything!!
I'm going to have to put that right.
June has been an incredibly busy month here, lots of orders so a huge thank you to you all for you support and custom, I'm always grateful and incredibly humbled that it's me you choose to make your precious keepsakes.
If you follow my Facebook page you'll also know that I'm expecting a new addition to The Glass Goddess family, a new kiln! I know it's a bit sad but I'm very excited because this will make life much easier for me as I'm getting more and more orders these days and Mini Goddess doesn't start full time school until September!
and garage tidied up, I'm having a huge sort out and anything that isn't either practical or beautiful will be outed, I've got a feeling out local Ashgate Hospice shop will be sick of the sight of me!
One of the other things that I'm clearing out is all the jewellery I made in my previous business, all handmade glass beads and jewellery but without the ashes. I've set up a Facebook group where i'll be posting photographs of all I have, selling it off a discounted prices and running a few offers and competitions, I'd love for you to join us!
If you'd like to see what's on offer then click here, click on the 'join' button at the top of the page and I'll add you to my little tribe so you can join in the fun and games and bag yourself a bargain!
