What a time I've had over the last couple of months! Firstly I feel the need to apologise for 'falling off the radar' as it were. I've had so much going on that, other than keeping on top of incoming orders, I've just not had either the time or brain capacity to keep up to date with social media and blogging.
Usually I'm a positive kinda gal, so I'll try not to be all doom a gloom whilst retelling what's been going on... after all every cloud has a silver lining, supposedly!
It all started quite a while ago when my (now ex) landlord told me he was selling up. "Don't worry" he said. "I'm selling to a friend that want's to keep you on as a tenant" he said...
Well that didn't happen, not only was the house sold to a private buyer but I ended up having to do all the viewings myself. And to top it off, none of the prospective buyers had been informed that the house was tenanted!!
So there's me, thinking all is fine and dandy because I've got a tenancy agreement in place that wasn't to expire until the end of this month (July 17). Which would give me plenty of time to view alternatives and find something suitable.
And there lies the second issue, virtually no properties available in the area and the few that were available you wouldn't, quite frankly, keep a dog in!
Mid stressing about where I'm going to go my (now ex) landlord starts getting his solicitors to send me stroppy letters asking me to sign documentation to agree to forfit my rights as a tenant and vacate the property upon completion of the sale. Very sneaky and cleverly worded letters that on the face of it didn't look like I had a choice in the matter. Luckily as an ex employee of a letting agency I knew my rights and refused to sign. Unfortunately it didn't stop the letters coming or the stress building, although I did at least know I wasn't going to be ousted before the end of my tenancy.
Eventually I managed to find a nice place, its not in the right area so I have to do 20 miles a day to get Mini Goddess to school and back but at least she now has a nice garden to play in.
Whilst all this is going on I'm slowly seeing a decline in the amount of order I was getting, despite not doing anything different to what I've done for the last couple of years. At first I thought it was perhaps just a slow month, then I thought maybe all the negative vibes from the house problems were impacting my business. It all came it all came to a head when I realised that over the first two months of this financial year I'd only made £300 profit... not enough to even feed myself and my Mini Goddess let alone pay the bills!
So once I got the house move out of the way it was clear I needed to evaluate my live and business.
I love doing what I do, and would dearly love to be able to help out anyone that requires my service but unfortunately, as a single mum, I have to be able to make enough money to provide for my Mini Goddess. She has to come first no matter what, and I'm sure you'll all agree with me on that.
1. BREATH - Slowly and deeply. Inhale to a count of four, hold for a count of 2, exhale for a count of 6. Repeat this 10 times and focus on nothing but your breath. As other thoughts start to creep into your conscious return your focus to your breathing.
2. BE AWARE of your feelings and don't try to suppress them. When it comes to grief everyone is on their own journey, and no two journeys are alike. Whatever feelings are coming up are perfectly normal and part of the process. Go with it, scream, cry, shout, laugh do what YOU need to do but just don't keep those feelings locked inside.
3. START A GRIEF JOURNAL - Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be as good as talking them over. You could also try writing a letter or Mothers Day card to your mum.
If you read my post from last week then you'll already be aware that prices were going up today. I hate to do it but after a 4 fold increase in costs since I last put my prices up i'm afraid it's unavoidable. The new pricing structure is currently being updated and implemented in my store but you can see a list of prices below:

Memorial Charm Beads (Sterling Silver core) £98.00

As I said earlier, this isn't through choice but through necessity. To compensate for the increase, throughout the year, I'll be unveiling some spectacular new products at incredible prices so to hear about them first make sure you're part of my mailing list, you can join it here by requesting your FREE brochure.
You're not alone. Traditionally it's the time of year when family gets together to celebrate, but as you know that isn't always possible.
Christmas seems to somehow magnify the feelings of grief and loneliness we experience when we've lost someone we love whether they're human or animal.
Now, obviously I'm not a miracle worker but I can help in my own way. I can give you a keepsake to treasure that will give you piece of mind that your loved one or cherished pet will be with you always.
By encapsulating a small amount of their ash within a beautiful Murano Glass bead you'll have something to hold/wear/hang on the Christmas tree but most importantly whatever you 'do' with it you'll have a bit of you loved one with you for Christmas.
Now the only catch is we're running out of time. To get them back to you in time for Christmas I need to have the ashes with me no later than 5th December. So if you're not in the UK it might already be too late. However if you are in the UK there's still time... but not much!
Once an order is placed I post out an order pack containing a scoop and bag for the ashes and an envelope to return them to me in. The pack takes up to 3 working days to arrive and a further 3-5 working days to get back to me. So that means that for the ashes to land with me by 5th December you'll need to return the envelope no later than Tuesday 29th November, which in turn means that I'll need to send you the pack no later than Thursday 24th November.
So the upshot is I'll need to see your order by WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER - THAT'S THIS WEEK!
Placing an order after this date means that I can't guarantee that you'll have the order pack in time to get the ashes back to me by that all important cut off date of 5th December.
So please, please if you want that extra bit of comfort this Christmas of knowing that you're loved one is there with you, don't leave it too late...
Order here before Wedensday 23rd November.
For the last 12 months I've been working pretty much flat out, early mornings, late into the night, weekends, you name it I've been doing it.
You see up until just a couple of weeks ago Mini Goddess wasn't at full time school, so I had to fit work in around her needs. I found my self answering emails whilst trying to cook dinner. Cleaning beads while she cleaned her teeth. Dragging her to the Post Office on the way home from school and even blogging on the bog!! (Don't worry - I'm writing this one from my desk!!)
It was a juggling act to fit everything into a day and there was no rhyme or reason to when I could/would get things done.
So all in all I think I've got a good thing going and the only difference you will find is that if you contact me in the evening or at a weekend you won't get an instant response. Don't worry though, you should hear back from me the next working day!
I hate to mention the 'C' word prior to December, however I've had so many people asking about last order dates for Christmas. I refused point blank to work out Christmas deadlines during the summer holidays but true to my word, since Mini Goddess has started school I've sat myself down and braved it.
Now, what you have to remember is that the order date isn't the relevant date, getting your order completed depends on when the ashes arrive with me. So to get your order back to you before Christmas I need the ashes with me prior to the dates below:
Africa, Middle East - 14th November 2016
Asia, Cyprus, Eastern Europe (except Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) Far East (including Japan) Australia, Greece, New Zealand - 21st November
Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, Canada, Finland, Sweden, USA, Austria, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg - 28th November
UK Mainland - 5th December.
Provided I have your ashes with me by these days I'll work morning, noon and night to make sure your orders are back with you in time for Christmas. Please remember you will need to order earlier than this to allow time for your order pack to be sent out to you and for the ashes to be returned to me.
They now come in Sterling Silver as well as Stainless Steel. It's something that lots of you have asked about, and as always when you ask I listen. So here they are (and what's even better is that for a limited time I'm offering them to you at a special introductory price!)
You've got from now until Midnight on Friday (29th July) to get either a lentil shaped sterling silver pendant for £81, saving you £28.99 (usual price £109.99.)
Or you could go for a heart shaped sterling silver pendant for £93 saving you a whopping £36.99 (usual price £129.99.)
Whichever you choose you'll get a massive saving but only until Friday, after that prices will revert to normal.
As usual you'll get a choice of bead colour and once your order is placed I'll send out an order pack with a scoop and bag for the ashes and an envelope to return them to me in. Your order will take around 14 days from me receiving the ashes (which of course I'll notify you of to put your mind at rest).
P.S - Only until Friday so don;t miss out, get yours here!!
"Where should I send my ashes to when I've ordered"
My answer is always the same - the address will be on the order confirmation.
It's just an address which wouldn't take a second to send the address there and then and it could speed up the time it takes for the customer to get their order back.
All true, BUT...
In my eyes the address is the single most valuable piece of information of the whole order. After all, it's not 'just an address' it's my address, my home. Even more importantly it's the home of my Mini Goddess too.
Now I'm fairly sure that I'm not going to have you pounding on my door night and day, and call me paranoid, but I just prefer to wait until we've both entered into a mutual contract (a sale) until I give away such an important piece of info.
So you see, it's not that I'm reluctant as such, it's just a way of safeguarding what's most important to me. I'm sure in my position you'd do the same.
I know that to all of my lovely customers each and every bead is precious, but I'm really excited this week because today see's the start of a bigger, better choice when it comes to charm beads...
You can now choose between the standard, stainless steel, core (£49.50) for your charm bead or my new 'even more precious' sterling silver core, what's even better is that to celebrate their launch all sterling silver beads will, for a limited time be at a special rate of £59.50 but this offer is limited and orders must be placed and paid for before midnight on Monday 29th February 2016 (leap day) to qualify.
Come 1st March prices will return to the normal £89 so don't hang about, get those orders in quickly!
As you all know I'm super grateful to all my fans, follower and of course my customers. I really wouldn't be where I am today without you lovely lot! So I've decided that it's time to give something back.
