Now most of us like a good bargain, me included (last Christmas I got a 60 quid party frock reduced to just £12!).
BUT there are some things you really would't want to scrimp on and some sales that just aren't good value.
For example, if you're visiting the dentist to have a tooth removed you wouldn't want to take them up on a 'buy one get one free' offer!
Or imagine you've booked a sky diving holiday and you're browsing a popular online auction site for a parachute when you see this ad:
Secondhand Parachute For Sale. Only used once, never opened. Great price due to small stain.
You'd think twice right?
Now obviously I've given you a couple of silly examples there but the bottom line is this:
You can't expect top notch quality when paying knock down prices.
Maybe you noticed that I didn't have any offers for Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Small Business Saturday. I've not been throwing discounts your way in the run up to Christmas either and I wouldn't hold your breath for a January sale as you might find yourself disappointed.
Please don't think I don't value your custom, if fact, it's quite the opposite, you all rock! But I'm a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for' and I'd hate to upset those of you that have paid full whack for something by offering it at a reduced rate at a later date.
Cards on the table... my work probably isn't your 'cheapest' option!
If you search the web you'll probably find other companies offering similar products at a cheaper price (you'll also find many offering similar products at a much higher price too!) But I'm not here to offer cheap;
I'm here to offer you a fair price for a quality product and an extremely personal service.
When you buy a memorial bead or jewellery from me your paying for over 15 years worth of jewellery making experience, 7 years of bead making experience with tuition from some world renowned artists and 3 years of experience of making memorial jewellery for hundreds of happy customers.
I spend lots of time and put extra effort into sourcing the best quality components I can find, as well as making sure all the companies I work with (couriers for example) have the same high standards of customer service I pride myself on.
After all, these aren't just any beads they're an everlasting celebration of the life of your lost loved one or cherished pet, and that's not something you want to be second rate!
As a single mum I know how tough it can be to find the money for things that aren't strictly 'necessities', I've been known to walk round all winter in boots that leak so I can buy my Mini Goddess a decent pair of shoes!
But sometimes there are things you just 'have to have'.
Now I love making memorial jewellery, most of all I love the wonderful messages I get from you all when you've received your order and you feel like you've got a little bit of the love you've lost back forever. I'm often found sobbing in front of my laptop after I've had a bunch of beautiful thank you messages. In fact, it's such a good feeling that if it wasn't for needing to feed, clothe and provide for Mini Goddess I'd love to make my memorial jewellery for free!
But back to reality.
Giving my work away obviously isn't possible and i don't just pluck a price out of thin air I work on pricing all the time, always trying to make a top quality product and provide the best service possible whilst still offering the best price I can.
But I know it can be a struggle, so in a bid to make my work more accessible to you all I'm offering payment plans for those of you wanting to place orders for over £150. The total order value will be split into 3 and an invoice sent each month, for 3 consecutive months, once the final invoice had been settled your order will be dispatched.
I can't give my work away but I can help to spread the cost a little bit!
So you've found my website or Facebook page, you've sent for your free info pack, and you've chosen the perfect piece of memorial jewellery to honour and celebrate the life of your loved one or cherished pet.
Now it's just a case of sending off your ashes right?
It's okay, you're not the only one that feels totally daunted by the though of 'just popping them in the post'.
Now my postie does a sterling job, and on the whole I can't complain about the service I've had over the years from Royal Mail either. But I DO get why you'd struggle sending your loved one off in a jiffy bag with no guarantee that they're going to get here.
You'd be devastated right?
Now, of course you can always send them recorded delivery and the package will be tracked. But all that actually does is give you some compensation if the parcel does get lost, and how can anyone compensate you for loosing your mum, brother, dog or goldfish?
So here's why I've been SO excited this week...
Starting on 4th January I'm super excited to be able to offer you the chance to come to my studio yourself, bring your ashes and watch while I make the beads for your order!
But be warned, I'm only able to offer this for two orders per week. There'll be one slot on a Monday afternoon and another on a Friday morning. that's it, these slots are going to get booked up FAST!
The slots will be offered on a 'first come first served' basis. So if you want to book yours then contact me now to find out about my availability. You'll have 24 hours from us arranging a mutually convenient date to place your order and pay or (as the slots will get booked up quickly) i'll have to open the slot back up to to others.
So don't hang about, if the though of posting is putting you off having a beautiful keepsake of your loved ones life that will stay with your for a lifetime then contact me today!
